Ducks go on sale for the 28th Annual Great Olympic Peninsula Duck Derby Presented by the Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe on Friday, April 21st, and racers will once again have the opportunity to win a 2017 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck or a Toyota Corolla provided by Wilder Toyota, and 43 other prizes. This years race will be held Sunday, May 21st, 2017 at 2:30 PM at the Pond at Lincoln Park.
A duck race is a glorified way of doing a raffle, as people purchase $5 tickets in hopes of winning the Toyota vehicle or other exciting prizes. The "draw" is held when we dump the ducks in the Lincoln Park Pond on May 21, with the first duck crossing the finish line winning the truck for its lucky owner.
We are looking for duck sales people, and we're hopeful that you will help us by selling at one of our locations. Proceeds benefit Olympic Medical Center, we will purchase vital equipment for the hospital!
Ducks are simple to sell:
- We provide you with the duck tickets, and a place to sell if you want (you can sell them on your own, too).
- We have reserved shift times at Walmart, Safeway (Port Angeles Lincoln Street, Eastside and Sequim), and Swain's.
- You can sign up for a two hour shift at any of the above locations any day between April 21 and May 20.
Since 1990, it has raised over $5 million, which has enabled the hospital to buy state of the art medical equipment, pay for staff training and pay for new services.
It has been able to do so because of the Duck Race, which has provided funds for the hospital since that time. We need a lot of sales people, so we're hopeful that you'll help us out.
Please contact or 808-3204 if you're interested, thanks.
